I am having an issue installing my upgate of CorelDraw X5. Right after I enter my serial number and the program attempts to install I get the errormessage. The feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailableCProgramFilesCorelCorelDraw Graphics Suite X5setupcgs15Setup.msiIs not a valid installation package for the product CorelDraw Graphics Suite X5.

Try to find the installation package 'setup.msi' in a folder from which youcan install CorelDraw Graphics Suite X5.Has anyone else experienced a similar issue. If so how did you resolve it?Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me solve this issueDawn.Tags. Dawn, I've been sifting through 100's and 100's of messages for you.One of the problems is that most folks with X5 are using Windows 7 or at least Vista. All the msi references I've come across are in relation to X3From what I can see, newer OS handle the installer differently.so the issue isn't coming up.A few questions? Are you upgrading from a previous version of Corel? Or are you just trying to install a SP?Do you happen to have Windows Media Center set up on the same computer?.Reply by on December 29, 2010 at 5:56pm. Butch, you're 100% right. I found a bunch of posts addressing that very same subject.I also found a good amount complaining about Windows installing something 'odd' with one of it's automatic updates. There's a fix on the MS site somewhere????

For folks that were adversely effected.I don't know for sure, but am I correct in assuming that the installer in Windows 7 is a totally revamped system? I'm curious because I really can't find any reference to this issue in connection with the newer operating systems.Diane.Reply by on December 29, 2010 at 6:26pm. Thank –you to everyone who took an interest to try and help me resolve my installation issue. I now have CorelDRAW X5 successfully installed!I ended taking my issue to my computer guy when I read the suggestions to check for a missing Microsoft file.msiAn.msi is a type of installer for Windows. This is an area I was not sure how to resolve so I called my computer guy to help me figure out how to fix this. What actually ended up causing my issue was a corrupted file that was copied to my computer when I first attempted to install. (Could have been because of my anti-virus?!)What was explained to me is that when software goes to install it copies files to the registry. Since mine ended up having a corrupted file installed it continually presented me with the same issue time and time again. To resolve my registry issue we had to wipe all previously installed files for CorfelDRAW X5 from my registry. We used an article at this linkto figure the solution to my issue.

And while this article is not specific to CorelDRAW it does address the issue I was having. Note: There is a broken link at the bottom for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility that we used to fix my issue. You can search Google and find other avenues to download the Clean-up Utility.I am including my computer guy’s contact info for anyone who feels that certain issues extend beyond their comfort or knowledge base.
